Embrace Gratitude Journaling: Inviting Sunshine into Your Life

"Keep your face to the sunshine and you cannot see a shadow!"
Helen Keller

Helen Keller, despite being deaf, blind, and mute, learned how to communicate and profoundly impacted the way society views people with disabilities. Despite having every reason to focus on the shadows in her life, she chose to seek the sunshine, her GRATITUDE W.I.N.S.. Her perspective teaches us a powerful lesson about the impact of gratitude on our lives and the importance of GRATITUDE journaling.

The Power of GRATITUDE Journaling

GRATITUDE journaling invites the sunshine into your lives. And we made it easy for you. First, grab one of our GRATITUDE bags which are portable GRATITUDE journals.  Then set your alarm to go off every few hours. When it does, stop what you're doing, take a deep breath, and look for your GRATITUDE W.I.N.S.  By recognizing your GRATITUDE W.I.N.S., both large and small, you can shift your paradigm and transform how you view your life, and enhance your well-being through consistent GRATITUDE journaling.

Count Your W.I.N.S.

To find your GRATITUDE W.I.N.S. ask yourself the following questions and record your responses on your "I am GRATEFUL" cards.

W - Who or what made a difference for me?
I - What did I do for myself or others?
N - How did I nourish my mind, body, and/or spirit?
S - What made me smile or laugh until my sides hurt?

It doesn't matter if you do your GRATITUDE journaling in the morning or evening. (I orefer to do it in the morning.) The key is to look for things that are unique to the day rather than repeating a rote GRATITUDE list.  Keeping your eyes open to the things you’re grateful for helps you see the sunshine even on cloudy days.

Examples of Gratitude W.I.N.S.
